UN Counterterrorism Campaign Committee visited Sarajevo International Airport

The UN counterterrorism campaign committee visited Sarajevo International Airport. Besides the Airport Security representatives, the meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of security, Border Police and Administration for indirect taxation.
They discussed border control measures related to checking of passengers and cargo, including different competences of security agencies, aimed at prevention of entry to persons suspected of terrorism who could endanger in any way the security interests of the country. The Committee showed most interest in inter-agency and international cooperation, and especially the exchange of information with Interpol and Europol in respect of struggle against violent extremism and radicalism, as well as foreign terrorists.
It was also discussed about activities related to prevention of money laundering and terrorism funding, legislation and judicial practice.
The above mentioned activities are taken for the purpose of implementation of international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including especially the Resolution of the UN Security Council, adopted after a visit of the counterterrorism campaign Committee in November 2007, as well as recommendations that will be advantageous to Bosnia and Herzegovina through further technical support, in order to fully implement relevant provisions of the Resolution.
